Meet your 'Habit Mechanic' guide - Dr Jon Finn

Hi, my name is Dr Jon Finn. I have worked in the fields of Resilience and Performance psychology for over 20 years, have three degrees in these areas, including a PhD, and I have invested over £500,000 in my own personal development.

I started my career working in elite sport, and founded the award-winning Tougher Minds consultancy. To date, we successfully trained over 10,000 people.

This vast experience has taught me that being your best, and helping others to be their best is complex. In my option traditional methods of personal development and coaching are OUTDATED and NOT effective in helping people thrive and succeed in the challenging modern world.
Most of these are rooted in the period between the 1940s and 1980s. At that point, we didn't know much about how our brains work. These outdated approaches only focus on giving people knowledge and skills. We NOW know this not very effective in helping people to make the positive changes needed to be their best.

For example, we all know that we need to eat at least five portions of fruit and veg per day. But knowing this is not enough to make people to do it.
We know that we probably need to sleep more, and exercise more, but we don't put this knowledge into action. Most people have some sense of what they need to do to be happier, less stressed and more focused, but they forget to use the skills they have learned.

The secret to being your best is building better HABITS.

So we train people how to use cutting-edge neuroscience, behavioural science and psychology so they can become 'Habit Mechanics'.
